Defense and Border Security Applications

Representation of a Field Transporter for Noninvasive IED Detection Systems
CONCEPT DESIGN: CNVaughan, BJB Design; Howe and Howe (Track Vehicle)

Applications made possible by LandRay platform technology will successfully address critical defense, border and perimeter security, and humanitarian detection and display needs.

Historically modest metal detector and ground penetrating radar sales attest to limited user adoption.

For defense and border security applications, established performance imperatives for winning devices are speed and certainty. These imperatives are the greatest differentiator of LandRay defense and border security applications.

  • Based upon an investor-sponsored independent determination of the shortcomings of planning and design tools for buried infrastructure, LandRay acquired and patented a new generation sensor technology and antenna silhouette.
  • The acquired technology makes possible the immediate formation of reliable 2D and 3D images and object position information, resolving critical unmet defense, border and perimeter security needs.

Patents and Other Legally Enforceable Intellectual Property Protections

LandRay Technology relies on patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other legally enforceable intellectual property protections, such as non-disclosure agreements, to establish and preserve ownership of its technology and know-how.

LandRay Technology files for additional patents and copyright protection claiming other innovation deriving from work with development partners. New filings might claim novel solutions for certain CW-DLFM components, CW-DLFM return signal processing software, and real-time imaging software.

Compelling Field Performance

LandRay sensor design and output obsoletes conventional ground penetrating radar alternatives.

  • Suitable performance in multiple soil types
    • Competition: Operable in a narrow range of soil types (approximately 30 percent of all soils in the U.S.); shallow working depth
    • LandRay: Operable over a wide range of soil types (substantially all of the prevailing types in the U.S.); superior data acquisition at greater working depths
  • Clear, unambiguous object imaging
    • Competition: Images, appearing usually as “squiggles”
    • LandRay: Data acquisition capability enables accurately dimensioned and positioned visualizations of subsurface conditions
  • Fast and accurate image creation; ease of use
    • Competition: “Squiggles” require expert interpretation; heavy reliance on surveyor’s field notes; time consuming tabulation
    • Competition: Significant time delay for reliable map creation; days and weeks required
    • LandRay: Rapid cloud based data processing and output
